There is nothing like a house that opens to the forest to make a
child appreciate nature.
A forest that a child explored everyday to learn its hidden
mysteries, the bird's nests, salamanders in the pools, the burrows
of the badges, even give each tree a name.
This is the universe where I grew up, and learned to appreciate
Mother nature, with great help from my parents! This window to
wildlife has involved me, and guided my steps towards the studies of
Ecology and Wildlife Management. Later, in my professional life, as
naturalist guide for the League for the Protection of the Birds, I
could share my knowledge and profit from the experience at the same
time.
After my 15 month overwintering in Antarctica, at the French base
Durmont d'Urville in Adelie Land, I understood that only the great wild spaces inspire me and bring me calm and serenity. Shortly after,
I found myself in Spitzberg, the Antarctic Peninsula, South Georgia,
Falklands, South Shetlands, and other places are soon to follow.
It's a bit of this passion for the poles, that I have the chance to
visit twice a year as naturalist guide and lecturer, that I would
like to share through this site, my images and my stories.
